One place that
both tourists and stars alike hope to end up in LA is on the Hollywood Walk of
Fame. The idea for the walk was first put forward in 1953. E.M. Stuart, the
president of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, wanted to find a way of
protecting Hollywood’s charm.
Over 1,500 men
and women were originally selected to be included on the sidewalk of stars.
These were all people who had made significant achievements in film,
television, radio, and music.
