The Merry Cemetery快樂墓園

“Merry” and “cemetery” are two words you probably wouldn’t put next to each other. However, they come together quite well in a churchyard in Romania. Instead of cold gray stones, each grave at this cheerful cemetery is marked with a colorful wooden cross.

Each cross features a painting and an original poem that show what the dead person was like. The cemetery’s beautiful crosses and light approach towards death have made it a popular open-air museum and tourist attraction.
