In a lakeside community in Oregon in the US Pacific Northwest, a young black bear became too friendly after people began to feed it. The local wildlife offi cials had a few choices.

Finally, the officials chose to kill the bear cub. It had become too much of a danger to the people in the area. Many people were upset by this choice because they thought that it was cruel and unnecessary to kill the bear.
