土耳其重塑形象 希望被稱為Türkiye

Turkey will be known as Türkiye at the
United Nations from now on, after it agreed to a formal request from Ankara.
在聯合國同意安卡拉提出的正式請求後，從現在起，土耳其在聯合國將被稱為Türkiye。
Several international bodies will be asked
to make the name change as part of a rebranding campaign launched by the
Turkish president late last year.
好幾個國際機構將被要求更改土耳其的名稱，這是土耳其總統去年底展開品牌再造行動的一環。
State broadcaster TRT was quick to make
the change as soon as it was announced last year, explaining that among the
reasons for the image rebrand was the association with the bird traditionally
associated with Christmas or New Year or Thanksgiving.
國營廣播電台TRT在政府去年宣布後，就迅速改變稱呼，解釋重塑形象的理由之一，和與耶誕節、新年或感恩節傳統有關聯的鳥：火雞有關。
It also pointed out to the Cambridge
English Dictionary’s definition of one of the meanings of the word as
"something that fails badly" or "a stupid or silly person".
該台也指出，劍橋英語辭典對「turkey」這個字的定義之一是：「非常失敗的東西」，或者「傻瓜或笨蛋」。
