UK man hailed for giving up Euro tickets to donate stem cells


英國男子因放棄歐國盃門票去捐幹細胞受到稱讚

A young England supporter won praise Thursday after he gave up tickets to watch the Euro 2020 semi-final against Denmark to donate life-saving stem cells.

一名年輕的英格蘭隊支持者,因放棄觀賞2020年歐洲國家盃足球賽對上丹麥隊的準決賽,去捐救命幹細胞而獲得讚揚。

Sam Astley, 24, volunteered to donate stem cells and bone marrow to help a blood cancer sufferer through UK charity Anthony Nolan and was informed he matched with a patient.

透過英國慈善組織「安東尼.諾蘭」自願捐骨髓和幹細胞協助血癌患者的24歲艾斯特里,接獲通知與一名病患吻合。

He and his girlfriend gave their tickets to relatives.

他和他女友便將門票送給親戚。

Astley’s story was initially reported by the Stourbridge News, a local newspaper, but was then picked up more widely.AFP
