After Trump suspends payments to WHO, other countries rally behind the agency


川普暫停金援世衛組織後,其他國家力挺該機構

President Trump’s decision to temporarily suspend payments to the World Health Organization WHO in response to its handling of the coronavirus pandemic triggered international statements of support for the United Nations agency on Wednesday.
(美國)總統川普決定暫停金援世界衛生組織(WHO),以回應該組織對新冠病毒全球大流行的應對不當,週三引發國際社會表態力挺這個聯合國機構。
While Trump’s criticism of the WHO is being shared by others, who argue that the agency is unwilling to hold Beijing sufficiently accountable for its mistakes, close U.S. allies said Wednesday they vehemently disagreed with a suspension of payments and were not planning to follow suit.
儘管其他國家都能接受川普對世衛的批評,認為該組織不願讓北京當局為其錯誤充分負起責任,(但這些)美國的親密盟國週三表示,他們強烈反對暫停金援,也不打算追隨美方的腳步。
Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison echoed concerns voiced by Trump and others by saying the WHO is "not immune from criticism," but he added that the organization "does a lot of important work."
澳洲總理莫里森呼應川普與其他領袖所表達的顧慮,指世衛「不能免於批評」,但他也補充說,該組織「做了很多重要的工作」。
