Mama bear, 3 cubs climb tree, take nap in urban Virginia

A mama black bear and three cubs clambered up a tree and napped in the middle of a Virginia neighborhood before voluntarily ambling on hours later, wildlife officials said Tuesday.

野生動物官員週二說，一隻黑熊媽媽和三隻熊寶寶爬上維吉尼亞州一處社區中央的一顆樹打瞌睡，幾小時後才甘願漫步離開。

The four black bears left their lofty perch on aptly named Bruin Drive in the city of Chesapeake around midnight Monday.

這4隻黑熊在週一午夜左右離開牠們位在切薩皮克市恰如其名的「棕熊大道」的偌高歇息處。

Officials had asked residents near the tree to stay inside and blocked off the road from outside visitors in order to give the bears “space, quiet, and time.”

Police were first alerted to the bears about 2 a.m. Monday, The Virginian-Pilot reported. （AP）
