Step up adaptation to climate change now or risk ’enormous toll’, scientists warn

 

科學家警告:現在就加快適應氣候變遷,否則有付出「龐大代價」之虞

More than 3,000 scientists called for a far bigger global push to protect people and nature from the effects of a heating planet.

3000多名科學家呼籲全球大幅加強保護人們和自然環境,免於遭受一個正愈加炎熱地球的效應之害。

In a statement, the scientists - including five Nobel laureates - warned that a failure to respond to rising climate risks, as governments try to revive their economies from coronavirus woes, would have severe consequences, especially for the poorest.

這批包括5名諾貝爾獎得主的科學家在聲明中警告,在各個政府設法重振受武漢肺炎疫情拖累的經濟之際,未能回應日益高漲的氣候風險,會有嚴重後果,特別是對最貧窮族群。
